A Message From The Owner

Dear friends,

I recently had the opportunity of personally responding to a community member's email.

Without going into to much detail, our customer reached out to share their hopes in anticipation of an upcoming appointment at Water House. There were fears about what to expect but also excitement and curiosity.

Our remarkable desk & management team have my full support, and I usually take a step back, trusting their compassionate approach. However, when presented with the opportunity to respond directly, I embraced it.

It's intriguing how we have limited avenues to convey our experiences—words, dance, touch—all seem insufficient to convey the rich detail of the complex story each of us is living. We express ourselves, hoping others will adopt our perspective & be present.

Ed Yong, in his illuminating book called "An Immense World," explores the unique sensory worlds of animals as they navigate their surroundings. Bugs tasting with their feet and Elephants communicating with vibration through the ground. If you want to feel a childlike sense of discovery about the world again, pick up this book. It brought me a new appreciation for just how vast experience can be, and a deeper compassion with it, as we share this planet with other people and species we are always impacting.

As I composed my response, I felt genuinely connected and a deep appreciation for the honesty shared. The act of them bringing their story to me was a gift. Supporting others never feels like work; it feels like being human.

The beauty of asking for what you want and receiving a "YES" from someone else is truly remarkable. It was crucial for me to convey to them that speaking up and taking up space is not only admirable but also an essential element in fostering therapeutic relationships.

That's why I extend an invitation for you to share your feedback with me anytime. Your voice is valuable, especially in these times of increased division and loneliness post-Covid. As a small business, witnessing your experiences is vital for us, and your thoughts and connections can help us grow and improve.

You are important to us.

Warm regards,

Kelly

I invite you to share your feedback with me, anytime.
